My name is Simon Hackney I have worked as an artist, craftsman and photographer for about Thirty years. I have in that time taught art and crafts for the American government at the American Teen Club in Bangkok, Thailand, taught a variety of crafts for the Hobbycraft stores in the UK. Studied with Michael Bossom who taught me how to teach Encaustic art (which I still love and still teach), I have been head of building for Sir Richard Glynn on his estate in Wimborn Dorset and worked as head of building maintenance for hotels including the 4 star Norfolk Royal. studied fine art photography and Photoshop at Kent collage and I still work as photographer, digitizer and IT manager for Sally King Design. I began doing professional leather work seriously around ten years ago but have worked with it for a lot longer and my love of it continues to grow.
I am a qualified carpenter and also a decorator specialising broken paint techniques particularly wood graining.

I follow a Pagan path, and have had Pagan beliefs my entire life. My Grandmother who raised me was a solitary witch and my Father was Cherokee, this tends to come out in my work.
I earned the name of "The Crowman" as I used to breed birds as a hobby.
I rescued a young Crow with a broken wing and nursed it back to health, it followed me everywhere and people started calling me the Crowman.
I live in the beautiful county of Cornwall in England with an amazingly talented lady that can be nothing else but a real live Fairy, and it is to her that I owe so much thanks for encouraging me and helping me to follow my dreams. This is a new venture for me, a new voyage of discovery. Please join me as the story unfolds for as we all know "When your with Fairy's anything can happen".
